Fred's Birthday

Fred had a really nice birthday. All his siblings were super good to him, all day long. They played with him, and let him be "first" all the time (they always fiercely compete about who is first for getting in their seats, climbing in the van, and numerous other things). Peter asked Fred to play Playstation with him, and spent time teaching Fred how to play and letting him have a lot of fun. George and Margie decorated the house, including blowing up lots of balloons, and they also helped make the cake.

Fred was very specific about his cake. He wanted a yellow cake with yellow frosting. And he wanted an "F.O." diesel train, with Ernie and Bert on it. I could only fit Ernie in the window, so I checked with him, if that was O.K. He said, "No", and proceeded to make various suggestions about where I could make Bert. So, he got Bert, too, in a caboose.

Fred was really pleased to get Star Wars figures and a ship. (It helps that his birthday comes at a time when toys are on clearance.)

Thomas had a rare display of jealousy. He couldn't stand it, that he wasn't allowed to touch Fred's new toys. (Just look at his face!)
